How to apply for family visa (Resident Visa ( IN KSA)

2. Salary Requirement: Minimum salary threshold is usually SAR 4,000 or more (may vary based on location and profession).

3. Iqama Validity: Iqama must be valid and not under transfer or renewal.

✅ Step-by-Step Process to Apply for a Family Resident Visa

Step 1: Prepare Required Documents

• Copy of your Iqama & passport

• Copy of your family’s passport(s)

• Marriage certificate (Appostile in your home country-Original and Translated Copy)

• Birth certificate(s) of child(ren) – Original and Translated Copy

• Academic certificate ( but sometimes required depending on profession-and Translated Copy

• NOC Letter from employer(stamped by your company and the Chamber of Commerce)

• Istiqdam Form - (Signed and sealed by the company)

• Istiqdam Personal Information

• Ghosy Certificate

• Sadad Payment bill

Step 2: Apply for a Family Visa (Istiqdam Visa)

You can apply through:

Option A: MOI Absher Platform (only for some categories)

1. Log in to Absher.sa

2. Go to: My Services > Expatriate Services > Family Visa Services

3. Fill in all required details.

4. Submit and print the application.

Option B: Istiqdam Office (Manual Application)

1. Fill the Istiqdam application form (available at Maktab Istiqdam).

2. Pay SAR 2,000 via SADAD ( regardless of the number of children).

3. Take appointment in Istiqdam Office via absher

4. Submit all documents in person.

5. Receive a yellow slip (visa approval document).

Step 3: Send Visa Approval to Your Home Country

• Send the yellow slip (visa approval copy) to your family.

• They should apply for the visa through the Saudi Embassy or VFS/Tasheel center in your country.

Step 4: Family Visa Stamping Process (in home country)

Family members should visit an authorized visa processing center (e.g., VFS Global or Etimad).
Documents needed:

• Medical report from authorized center

• Passport-size photos

• Visa slip (yellow slip)

Converting Saudi Driving license to Oman

A lot of websites says about conversion of GCC driving license to oman driving license.
But from experience, we cant convert or exchange all GCC country license to oman.

I had a Saudi Driving license. But when I got a new job in oman and tried to exchange with the Oman driving license, I was alarmed to know that, having a saudi driving license is of no use. I have to undergo all test ( Slope test, Drum test and Road Test ). Which is similar to to taking a new license.

But since I had indian driving license, I dont have to take Slope and Drum Test.
